Temperature at 6am was 37 degrees. It didn't feel too chilly as the sun was starting to filter through the trees. We made use of the restroom one final time and then started our trek at 7:55am.

A train of pack horses passed us just before we started on the trail.

We took the Trail Pass up to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), had a short rest and continued northward on the PCT.

We planned on having a short day today to acclimate at the 11,000 ft level. Pebbles is still feeling the elevation, has a pretty bad headache and is taking her time. It really helps to take short breaks. Even with hiking slow and taking breaks, we still arrived at today's destination at 12:30pm. It was quite breezy. Hot in the sun and cold in the shade.

Three thru hikers stopped to chat, Ducky, Sleeping Sam, and Snackster. They had just bought new shoes at Kennedy Meadows three day ago and were hating them. One gal asked about my shoes so I let her try one on for size. She hopes to order a pair when she has cell service and have them delivered to her next resupply.
