Aug 3, 2022 Wonderland Trail:
Finally on the trail, we had a 3,678 ft elevation gain in 7.2 miles at first, mostly in the forest and then broke out into the open and then Mt Rainier was in our face in all its majestic glory. It was a sight to behold.

We dropped into our first campsite at Indian Bar and got the last reserved campsite for night.

Water was quite a ways away from our site. We were tickled pink that there was a toilet nearby, a mighty throne with amazing views to ponder. (Note: each camp has a toilet, some are just a toilet in the woods, some look like outhouses, and one camp had double back-to-back toilets.) Each camping area has a bear hang, but these types were going to take some work to get our bags up in the air. Imagine looping your heavy food bag on the end of a 10-11 foot pole, and then hoisting it into the air trying to slip the loop over a piece of rebar high over your head.... A great first day on the Wonderland Trail!
