08-05-22 Wonderland Trail:
Cold and clear skies greeted us on day three with Mt Rainier glowing with the orange-red sunrise.

I totally lucked out and captured one pic showing climbers on Rainier. Hope you can see them in one of the included pics, you might have to zoom in as they are on the left hand side of the mountain.

Had a long 2,100 ft descent into the White River Campground, with one bridge crossing over river, where we were looking forward to doing a quick cleanup with running water. Wildflowers covered the hillsides while masses of day hikers starting from the Frying Pan Trailhead passed us huffing and puffing on the steep switchbacks.

Found the backpackers camp at White River Campground, set up camp and then headed to the washrooms to literally wash off three days of embedded dirt. A young family was in a campsite across from us, the mom was pulling her hair out trying to set up a ginormous tent. Some screaming commenced from the mom so the dad took the kids off to play in the creek. Mom finally gave up with the tent, dad returned and swapped duties. Mom goes off with kids, dad tries to set up tent still to no avail, and thankfully another camper took pity on him and came over and helped set it up. As we were sitting in the sun drying off from our sponge baths, Jayne starts laying out packets of condiments on a log. We were amazed on how many different packets she was carrying! After much laughter, Jayne now has a new trailname of Condiments!
