08-08-22 Wonderland Trail:
Day 6 was one of the easier days on the trail with only 1,079 ft elevation gain and 1,414 ft elevation drop. As we were coming down for another big creek crossing, we noticed that the huge long rock flow was actually frozen ice underneath! Wow, a glacier! It was so cool to see.

Ran across a park ranger who asked to see our permit. Also was informed that the toilet at Mystic Camp was full so we were cleared to do our potty business in the woods as long as we buried it six inches deep and carried out our toilet paper.

We arrived at Mystic Camp and had our choice of seven sites to choose from. Of course with three tents we chose the biggest one. Found out that Jay's airpad had deflated several times last night so he needed to find where the hole was to repair it. Mystic Lake was about 2/10's away so we gathered some stuff and planned for an afternoon at the lake.

Jay dunked his airpad in the water, found the hole but discovered he didn't have a repair kit with him. Another backpacker saw his troubles and noticed that the airpad was the exact same as his so he offered one of his patches for Jay's pad. Yay, airpad repaired! Spent the rest of the afternoon rinsing off bodies and clothing in the water. Many other backpackers stopped to enjoy the water and scenery and before we knew it, we had party time on the trail!

Jay went in for one more dip and discovered a pair of sunglasses on the bottom of the lake. "Hey, anybody lose their sunglasses?" "Aack", says Jayne, "they're mine!" So thankful Jay had taken his last dip as they are her prescription sunglasses. Yay!!
