08-07-22 Wonderland Trail:
Ahhhh, day five of our epic journey. Karen and Jay broke camp early while Jayne and I took extra time to pack up.
Was surprised at a few lingering snowpacks but was able to easily kick steps into the soft snow and continue up. We had left our microspikes in our resupply boxes as trail-talk said we didn't need them past Summerland.
We came to the intersection where the Burroughs Mountain trail led to Burroughs 1, 2, and 3 so Jayne and I decided to check number 1 out. We rounded the corner on Burroughs 1 and holy moley, the view!!

A passing photographer loaded down with camera gear told us we wouldn't be disappointed if we hiked up Burroughs 2. Boy was he right on the money! Wow, what a view!
On the top of Burroughs 2 was an interesting bench where Jayne and I had the opportunity to eat our morning snack and gaze at the million dollar view.

The masses were arriving from Sunrise Lodge so we headed back down to the Wonderland Trail and continued on.

Broke out the umbrellas as the sun was burning hot. Had another 413 ft climb and topped out at Skyscraper Pass. Then a nice long shaded 930 ft down to Granite Creek Camp for the night. Spent most of the afternoon at the beautiful creek before dinner.
